Deep Water Port Accountability & Transparency

To:  City of Pittsburg, California

We the undersigned residents of Bay Point wish to join with the citizens of Pittsburg in demanding accountability and transparency from the City Government of Pittsburg.



Over the past two years the City of Pittsburg has taken numerous steps to develop a deep water port along the Pittsburg Waterfront. Along with a major increase in ship, truck and train traffic, such development would also bring a major increase in air pollution, traffic on our roadways and could cost Pittsburg taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars for infrastructure improvements.



As we residents of Bay Point will be equally affected in many of these same ways, we wish to join the voters and tax payers in the city of Pittsburg in demanding that City of Pittsburg officials come forth and explain their goals for this project, their plans to fund it, and their strategies to mitigate the negative impacts of developing a deep water port along the Pittsburg waterfront. No more secrecy in government!
