We, the students of Adlai E. Stevenson High School, want to change the academic schedule to allow for first semester finals to be given before winter break.
Changing the academic schedule per this petition will result in the following:

Early final exams have no impact on the number of school days that are required by the State of Illinois.

Finishing finals before winter vacation gives the student population a break form educational process.

Completing grades before winter vacation will give teachers a true break without papers to grade.

Students retention of current semester information potentially will be better because they wont have a gap between their academic schedule and the final exam period.

Earlier final exams have the potential to improve the academic performance of the student population.
