Ban the sale of Spit Tobacco in Ontario

A US Smokeless Tobacco Company executive once said,
"Cherry Skoal is for somebody who likes the taste of candy, if you know what I'm saying..."
And the Tobacco Industry says they don't market to kids.

CHEW AND SPIT TOBACCO USE AMONGST ONTARIO YOUTH IS A GROWING PROBLEM. THE TOBACCO INDUSTRY IS AGGRESSIVELY MARKETING THEIR HARMFUL PRODUCTS TO OUR YOUTH.

I am concerned about this growing problem. Chew and spit tobacco products:

•Have no safe level of use;
•Have been shown to cause serious health problems such as oral cancer, heart disease, and gum disease;
•Are created by the Tobacco Industry to be more appealing to youth by incorporating candy flavours;
•And are marketed by the Tobacco Industry in youth-oriented media.

Furthermore, teens who use chew and spit tobacco are more likely to use cigarettes.

FOR THESE REASONS, I AM ASKING THE ONTARIO GOVERNMENT TO BAN THE SALE OF CHEW AND SPIT TOBACCO PRODUCTS.
