We believe the court system is an inappropriate and costly venue for regulating healthcare professionals. We urge the Allegheny County District Attorney to refrain from bringing criminal charges against Judith Wilson, CPM (Certified Professional Midwife). We ask instead that the District Attorney's office recommend the establishment of a task force to study practical solutions for providing quality maternity care to the significant number of families in the state of Pennsylvania that choose home as the preferred birth setting.
