Stop Dangerous ID

To:  Virginia State Legislators

Whereas:

- Eleven courageous state governors have already signed OPT OUT legislation that forbids their state from implementing Dangerous ID,

- Dangerous ID, the so-called REAL ID Act of 2005, is an anti-gun rights law passed under false pretenses,

- Dangerous ID changes my state issued driver's license into a National Identification Card for government control of gun owners,

- Dangerous ID increases the likelihood of identity theft by storing personal and private data such as the SS numbers, financial and medical information, and buying habits of gun owners on embedded Spy Chips that savvy computer con artists can read by wireless technology,

- Dangerous ID is a Gun Control and Citizen Control scheme that does NOT solve Immigration Control problems,

-Dangerous ID will NOT stop terrorism but WILL punish law-abiding gun owners,

- Dangerous ID is an unfunded federal mandate that will cost taxpaying gun owners a fortune,

- Dangerous ID exceeds the powers delegated by the people to Congress,

- Delegate Bob Marshall has introduced the Virginia Stop Dangerous ID Bill, H.B. 1587, to “Opt Out” of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff’s new dangerous citizen control agenda,

- Delegate Bob Marshall will, if necessary, introduce a budget amendment prohibiting the expenditure of funds to implement the provisions of the Dangerous ID ACT.


Therefore Be It Resolved That:


- Not one penny of Virginia tax dollars shall be used to implement Dangerous ID,

- Any Delegate that does not vote NO on any appropriation to implement Dangerous ID must be held accountable at the polls in 2009,

- Governor Tim Kaine must ignore the intimidation of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff who threatens to stop Virginians without a National ID Card from boarding airplanes,

- Lt. Governor Bill Bolling, candidate for re-election as Lt. Governor in 2009 and Chair of the Virginia Senate, must use his political clout to secure a clean vote in the Virginia Senate on a Senate version of Delegate Bob Marshall’s Stop Dangerous ID legislation, H.B. 1587

- Lt. Governor Bill Bolling must insure that the Senate does not appropriate any funds to implement Dangerous ID.


Within the state of Virginia in 2009, any politician who votes for any budget with any money in it to implement Dangerous ID, will lose my vote next election.
