Life in the 21st century for todays students will demand a more intense application of knowledge, skills and abilities than ever before. There is a need to establish an academically rigorous, standards-based school of excellence in the East New York/Starrett City/Spring Creek section of Brooklyn that will serve as a national model for 21st century public school reform. The Cultural Arts Academy at Spring Creek, in partnership with Dr. A.R. Bernard, CEO of Christian Cultural Center, is applying to open an exemplary 21st century charter school in September 2010.

The Cultural Arts Academy Charter School at Spring Creek is a college preparatory K-12 school located in the Spring Creek/East New York/Canarsie section of Brooklyn, New York whose mission is to provide an exemplary, standards-based arts education program that promotes superior academic scholarship and strong cultural arts proficiency. The core curriculum of the Cultural Arts Academy Charter School will include English Language Arts, mathematics, the sciences, social studies, technology, physical education and the study of music, dance, visual arts and theater across the curriculum, and will prepare students for entry into entrepreneurial careers, mathematics, science and the arts, and as scholars in various academic fields and diverse vocations.

Christian Cultural Center will make the following resources and support available to the Cultural Arts Academy Charter School:

Computer, Math, Science and Language Labs with technical support
Synergy Tutoring Program
Conference site for educational workshops and seminars
Annual Academic Scholarships

Creative arts production support

The Spring Creek Cultural Arts Academy Charter School Planning Team and Christian Cultural Center under the leadership of Dr. A.R.
