Restore CAMS Queensland office resources

The petition of certain members of CAMS identified below state that, with respect to the following CAMS Constitution Clauses:

4 (d) establish and regulate a branch of CAMS in each State to be known as a "State Council";
12 (b) The composition, operation, duties and functions of State Councils shall be in accordance with this Constitution and as determined by CAMS from time to time in consultation with State Councils and prescribed in Standing Orders.
12 (c ) (vi) at all times operate with, and promote, mutual trust and confidence between CAMS and the Members in pursuit of the Objects;
14 (a) (viii) They are entitled to all benefits, advantages, privileges and services of CAMS membership.

• There has been a loss of identity of the State Council, specifically the change from the Constitutional term of State Council to the Sport and Club Development Council – Queensland
• Recent Board decisions, and in particular the Organisational Review currently in implementation, have resulted in reduced delivery of services to the Clubs of which we, the undersigned, are members and the ability of the said clubs to organise events in accordance with CAMS regulations has been severely hindered
• A centralised national administration system may not be in the interest in each particular State, as each State Council is aware of the needs of their Clubs and should be allowed to negotiate the best approach suitable to that state.
• Further loss of Queensland-based assistance, i.e. labour and resources, is a matter of grave concern with the undersigned members anticipating loss of services and availability for weekend-held events and holding the opinion that CAMS upon the completion of the proposed Organisation will not be an organisation suitable to meet the needs of small affiliated motorsports clubs.

Your Petitioners respectfully request that the Board of CAMS:

1. Restore the constitutional identity of the Queensland State Council
2. Provide Queensland-based resources, i.e. office, employees and necessary equipment, for the assistance of the Queensland State Council and for the provision of services previously available to its affiliated Club members.
