Captions on Online/Downloadable videos

To:  Federal Communications Commission (FCC)

I am deaf. I am frustrated by the lack of captions in online videos. These include downloadable videos for use on a portable media player or personal computer or Digital Video Recorder (aka DVR or TiVo).

I respectfully request that the suppliers of said videos insert captions or the ability to “turn on captions” or “turn on subtitles (English and others)”.

EVERY time I download a video from such sources as NBC.com, or ABC.com or FOX.com or CBS.com, they are NEVER captioned.

EVERY time I download a show from Amazon Unbox to my TiVo or DVR, they are NEVER captioned. These include videos I PAY for. Why should I pay if I can’t understand the program!?

EVERY time I download a show from NetFlix "Watch Videos Instantly" to watch on my DVD player or portable media player, they are NEVER captioned. These include videos I PAY for. Why should I pay if I can’t understand the program!?

I cannot understand the show/program/performance if there are no captions or English subtitles. You are ignoring 10% of the population in the US who has a hearing loss.

Please make sure ALL programs above have captions or English Subtitles.
