HELP US ASK CONGRESS TO
Reform The Fair Credit Reporting Act
(We Need 100,000 Signatures to Effect Change)

Credit Liaison has begun the first of many initiatives to challenge the laws that govern a consumer’s credit report and the accuracy of the information they contain. As it currently stands Credit Repair has become a dirty word. While the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) promotes every consumer can and should inquire and “fix” their credit on their own and basically attempt to have consumers shy away from Credit Repair companies, they have made it extremely difficult and burdensome for the consumer to do such which in affect causes a consumer to do absolutely nothing. This mindset and effort has enabled Creditors and the Credit Bureaus to profit substantially at the consumer’s layman expense. Creditors and Credit Bureaus spend a significant amount of money to lobby and ensure the law benefits them. Who is lobbying for you the Consumer? We thought it was suppose to be Congress and legislative the officials we elect into office. They have failed us dearly but now it is time for us to speak up as a Class…the Consumer Class! It is time for our elected officials to step up to the plate and put the PEOPLE first.

The goal of Credit Liaison is to get Congress to change consumer laws to actually put the rights and benefits of the consumer first and not the Creditors and Credit Bureaus. Congress has created a huge injustice against the American people by putting big business before the Consumer when it is the Consumer that drives all big business. We are looking for Congress to address the following:

• Require mandatory 100% accuracy of consumer information reported rather than allowing Creditors & Credit Bureaus to use “reasonable” measures to ensure accuracy.
• Require mandatory disclosure upon the request of the consumer for Credit Bureaus to disclose the detail procedures used to lower a credit score and provide 100% accurate information that allows consumers to raise their credit scores.
• Raise the violation of consumer credit violations from $1000.00 per violation to $5000.00 per violation to make liability equitable.
• Require Creditors & Credit Bureaus to disclose upon request any and all information to support a claim of debt without the consumer having to file a lawsuit in court and any lack thereof resulting in a violation the result of which is to immediately delete said information from the consumer’s credit report.
• Implement a “Status of Finding” by the FTC which shall mean 100 creditable violation complaints against a Creditor shall prevent that Creditor from being allowed to report consumer information to the Credit Bureaus for a period of five (5) years.

With your help we can create a Consumer Class with enough political clout to effect change. If the last Presidential Election has taught us anything it’s that we still have a voice to be heard. We need to continue to be heard as a people, effect change by the people and create laws in favor for the people! Please join me and the rest of Credit Liaison as we fight for your rights!

Sincerely,
