Hello. My name is Crystal Leger. We live in Rayne, Louisiana. This town has recently passed a BREED SPECIFIC ORDINANCE (June 10, 2000) against Pit Bulls that we tried to fight at the Rayne City Council Meeting. We have hired a lawyer and are currently filing suit against The City of Rayne to drop this Breed Specific Ordinance. Officials of The City of Rayne already have an American Pit Bull Terrier of ours that may be in danger of getting euthanized. We know there is a chance of not winning this case but it is worth the effort. We have gotten so far and put so much work into this that we do not want to give up. The Endangered Breeds Association, until recently, been funding this lawsuit for us. Unfortunately, they have run out of funding and we are now paying for this lawsuit out of own pockets. We are asking every interested in preserving the rights of ABPT'S, AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIERS, AND AMERICAN BULL TERRIERS to give donations to help us Finnish this law suit. If this law can be STOPPED here, then we can make a difference all over the state (and hopefully, eventually the country). American Pit Bull Lovers will look back and ay that we brought this unconstitutional Breed Specific Legislation to court and won. Hopefully, one day we can have our APBT'S without discrimination or prejudice just as every one else has their choice of breed of dogs. We are in desperate need of any donations--small or large, ANYTHING WILL HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
