Save the Citgo Sign |
To: Boston City Councilor Jerry McDermottThis is a petition to save a Boston landmark. No, I'm not talking about Fenway Park(this time), I'm talking about the guiding light to Fenway Park, the Citgo Sign. Boston City Councilor Jerry McDermott is wanting to tear down the famous sign that has given the glow to Boston's Kenmore Square for so many years. This comes as a result of the comments of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, in which he called our President George W. Bush the "Devil" at a recent United Nations conference in New York City. Councilor McDermott wants to tear down the Citgo Sign as a sign of his protest for Chavez' comments toward President Bush. As someone who has made the journey to many Red Sox games, I missed that sign for the few months it was out during bulb replacement. Anyone who cares about this beautiful landmark should sign this.
Sincerely,
