We the undersigned are opposed to the construction of a garbage incinerator in Durham Region on the grounds that: 1) The air pollution that it will produce,
on top of the already compromised airshed of Clarington, will be harmful to our health; 2) The proposed monitoring of its emissions is inadequate, and
3) Recycling and EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) will achieve the same results better and at much less cost. We urge the Minister of the Environment and the Provincial Cabinet to reject the Environmental Assessment submitted by Durham Region.
