CWU Students Against Tuition Increases

Last year, Central Washington University’s tuition was increased by 14%. We all know that the economy is in bad shape and we all need to make cutbacks. But the school budget should not be balanced on the backs of students who are trying to better themselves by getting an education.

Later this school year, when school budget are created, we must not raise tuition again. Students are the future of America and those students are having their opportunity limited by the increasing cost of college. Affordable schooling is a reasonable expectation and in today’s economy, the very light wallets of students must be considered.

We urge the university to remember these concerns and act on them come budget time. Don’t raise the tuition again, students just can’t afford it.
