DC Dog Park S Street Park |
To: DC Department of Parks and RecreationFrom: Supporters of Dog Park at S Street Park
We, the undersigned, as concerned tax-paying DC residents—dog owners and non-dog owners alike—of the greater Ward 2 area believe it is important to have neighborhood dog parks to socialize and exercise all dogs off-leash. Specifically, we are calling for the right to use the park area at the corners of New Hampshire Avenue, 17th Street, and S Street, NW (commonly known as S Street Park), under the established DPR regulations.
We do not believe that dogs are more important than people, but we do believe that dog owners are equal to other park patrons and should be treated equitably.
We commit to be responsible park patrons by:
• obeying dog park regulations as set by the DPR,
• cleaning up after our dogs and each other;
• maintaining voice control of our dogs and keeping disturbances to a minimum;
• assisting with the maintenance of the park; and
• treating our community members with respect and consideration.
By signing this petition, I support the establishment of a dog park in this community.
Please note that for your signature to be valid, you MUST include first and last name, home address with zip code, and email address (you have the option of keeping your email address private).Sincerely,
