The Dallas Stars made a twenty-year commitment to Southern Dallas and Ellis Counties eight years ago with the opening of the Duncanville DrPepper Stars Center. Since then the Dallas Stars organization has put little effort towards promoting the facility, or supporting the development of youth hockey. The Dallas Stars, it appears, will be leaving the area and turning their back on this area effective September 30, 2009.

Hundreds of parents, organizations and volunteer groups have recently made it known that they will do everything possible to help the Dallas Stars organization with the Duncanville DrPepper StarsCenter, but the Stars first need to do what is right and honor their commitment to the community. The Dallas Stars need a presence, feet on the ground and to be proactive in the communities and schools. They need too work at creating interest, organizing youth hockey teams, and skating in general. Until now the Stars have been all talk and no action.

If the Dallas Stars terminate their lease of the Duncanville DrPepper StarsCenter, it will be considered the final insult to the citizens of Southern Dallas and Ellis Counties. This move to further disassociate the Dallas Stars from the area, after years of neglecting the area, the lack of commitment or support will be returned and a full boycott of all Stars games, merchandise and media products shall begin no later than October 1st, 2009.
