Expand hours of the fountains at Discovery Meadows

Thank you to all those whor supported the petition. As of June 4th, Jay Pearson wrote, "we've considered your request and discussed the issue with our Park Maintenance staff - we all agree that it would be nice to provide the fountain for young families with pre-schoolers who visit the park in the mornings....at least this spring...so the fountain will be active at 10 am beginning today....as always you'll have to push the activate button to get it started....we will have a park ranger scheduled from noon on - their chemical readings can start at noon (2 hours after operation begins - within our requirement) I may not be able to afford this next fall or next year, but let's just take it one step at a time - pass the word....thanks for your feedback....Jay P."

To:  Parents who use Discovery Meadows weekday mornings

Until the end of the school year, June 15th, the water to the fountains at Discovery Meadows is only turned on after 3pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. This policy is based on the belief that few people use the park on weekday mornings and afternoons before 3pm. We believe this policy ignores the needs of children under five and their parents who use the park weekday mornings and afternoons.
