Dear A&E, Acorn Media, and BBC America:
For the last three years, I have been making inquiry after inquiry to your companies requesting that the BBC mini-series Lipstick on Your Collar (1993) and The Scarlet and The Black (1993), both films starring Ewan McGregor, be released to DVD.
Ewan McGregor is no longer an actor unknown to audiences of television and cinema. With well-over twenty films in his filmography, this incredible artist has won the adoration of millions around the world through his wide range of roles--from a junkie in Trainspotting to a Jedi Knight in the Star Wars prequels to a penniless poet in Moulin Rouge.
Lipstick on Your Collar and The Scarlet and The Black are McGregors first screen debuts, and even then he was able to dazzle us with his incredible talent, his beauty, and his gorgeous, liquid velvet voice.
The problem we Ewan McGregor fans are facing now is this
Many of us have never been able to see these two early works of his, because both Lipstick on Your Collar and The Scarlet and The Black are becoming increasingly more difficult to find on VHS, even on online shopping locations. Retailers such as Amazon.com only have, on rare occasion, Lipstick on Your Collar available through their secondary used market.
Sadder yet still is ones chance of finding a copy of The Scarlet and The Black. The only chance one has of viewing The Scarlet and The Black now is by buying a bootlegged version on Ebay, but not every fan wishes to go to extremes to obtain even a poor quality copy of such.
Dozens of films marked by Ewan McGregors name tell some of the most fantastic stories on celluloid, and through them, Ewan has wowed and wooed us, creating millions of devoted fans in his films wakes.
These signatures signify fans of Ewan McGregors film work.
And for every name on this list, there is a person interested in seeing Lipstick on Your Collar and The Scarlet and The Black released to the DVD format.
But remember
We are not just interested people. We are potential customers.
By releasing Lipstick on Your Collar and The Scarlet and The Black to the DVD format, you will be giving us the incentive to be true customers.
Sincerely,
N. Westenhouser
