Grand Coven Summoning

To:  Wiccans and Pagans

This year more people around the world are waking up to the reality of Global Warming and the climate crisis. We as Pagans have a unique responsibility to the Earth as we understand Her delicate balance, perhaps more than anyone else. It is time to take action. This letter is a Petition of Magickal Working, a summoning of a GRAND COVEN, a call to all Pagans, Wiccans, Shamans, Energy Workers, and those of a like mind around the world.

It is known that once before a GRAND COVEN was summoned in England in WWII to prevent Hitler from invading England. History has proven that the massive gathering of magickal energy aimed at a positive goal was effective then, our lives and our planet depend on it also succeeding now. Whether you debate the validity of the first GRAND COVEN or not is not of consequence. Rather, the focus of this summoning is focused on the present: a calling for all Pagans to gather together and work toward a higher purpose, that of healing and balancing the earth.

The purpose in the gathering of a Grand Coven is to raise energy from various groups and interested individuals from around the world with a common focus, HEALING AND REBALANCING the Earth.

We will convene on Sunday April 22 2007, (Earth Day) beginning at twelve noon EST time, with a raising of healing and balancing energy to be released to the world at three pm EST.

By signing the online petition, as a Pagan, or as one that is of like mind, you are making a pledge to conserving gas and energy and also to join us in this working on 4/22/2007. No matter what your location, you can work magickal energies to help heal the earth.

We ask that all interested parties be mindful of the intent of this working to restore healing and balance to the Earth, no more, no less, as we do not intend to offset the equilibrium any more than mankind already has. We also ask that all interested parties forward this petition to any of their peers who may also be interested in undertaking this work so that Pagans around the world can lend their energies on this date and time to this common cause.

We recognize that people have a variety of rituals specific to their own groups and respecting this we ask only that the intent of the energy be healing and restoring the Earth and be of a positive and not destructive nature.

We ask that all interested parties sign and return this Magickal Working Petition so that it may be used as a link between all the groups, covens, and solitary practitioners intending to do this work.

The Principles of Belief state that:

1. “We practice rites to attune ourselves with the natural rhythm of life forces marked by the phases of the moon and the seasonal quarters and cross-quarters.”

2. “We recognize that our intelligence gives us a unique responsibility toward our environment. We seek to live in harmony with nature, in ecological balance offering fulfillment to life and consciousness within an evolutionary concept.”

3. “We acknowledge a depth of power far greater than apparent to the average person. Because this power is far greater than ordinary, we sometimes call this force "supernatural," but we see this power as lying within that which is naturally potential to all."

While we am sure that each of us as Pagans is acting in accordance with these principles on a daily basis, let us recognize the severity of the climate crisis in which we find ourselves and use our beliefs and abilities to do our part in offsetting this damage to our ecosystem.
