The last two years have seen three incredible films in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. They have been honored with many nominations and Oscar wins.

Now that the trilogy is complete with Return of the King we feel it necessary to draw the Academy's attention to the actor who is the heart and soul of these three films and whose performance has received almost universal critical praise- Elijah Wood.

No actor worked harder on the three films as has been testified to by its director Peter Jackson. And Elijah Wood's exquisitely subtle yet emotionally devastating performance ranging from joyful innocence to complete and utter loss has been the emotional base that sustained the dramatic impact of the three monumental films. His performance is one of the highest quality and without his talent the films could have simply fallen flat.

He deserves to be recognized for what is surely one of the most outstanding performances of this decade.

We the undersigned hereby ask that Elijah Jordan Wood be Nominated for Best Actor in this year's Academy Awards.
