Stop Discrimination against non-Muslims in Florida Public Schools

To:  Florida Congress

My name is Jordan Moore, and I attend Winter Park High School in Winter Park, FL. It is obviously a public school, and thus must follow the laws set by Florida, which "Dress Code" is covered under.

Last week I decided to wear my new Beanie hat to school ( It matched really well with my vest). Anyways, immediately, the first teacher who saw me scorned me for the "violation" and that I take it off or face consequences. As this was happening, I see a Muslim girl pass with her chador (head covering) covering all her hair and everywhere above the bottom of the neck excluding the very center of her face.

I stood in awe of the hypocrisy and injustice.

Let me start off by saying I have done EXTENSIVE research from reliable, non-biased sources. I also DO NOT hate Muslims, but I do think their practices are wrong.

THE ISSUE: Muslims are allowed to wear not just hats at school, but FULL head coverings; while if even a cap, hood, or small beanie that barely covers half of your hair (such as mine) is worn by a non-Muslim, you face strict discipline. In addition to this, Muslims are allowed to leave class to pray to Mecca.

WHY: Simply put, fear combined with political correctness (PC) .
-Florida's policy states: "Hats or head coverings are permissible if required for religious or medical reasons."

This is wrong on 2 levels:
1. Head coverings are NOT required in Islam, nor are they mentioned in the Koran. It talks about modesty. It is ARAB tradition, which is a group of ethnic peoples, not a religion. Modesty is mentioned in the Bible also, but how many Christians have you seen wearing head coverings? It is CULTURAL not RELIGIOUS.

2. Even if it was religious, it STILL should not be allowed.

Since when did religion override government? What about the separation of church and state that Christians are continually persecuted over?

Muslims who choose to wear the head coverings are simply saying "Screw you, I can can do what I want", and they know they can play the "discrimination" card to get what they want, and politicians crumble over it.

SOLUTION: Either the government lets EVERYONE wear head wear because it falls under CULTURAL for both Americans and Muslims OR ban head wear from EVERYONE, instead of truly discriminating against non-Muslims' cultural wear.

GOVERNMENT laws can't be overridden for a minority that threatens Western Society.

A religious belief CAN'T come before law.

This scares many people, because this is just the first step. Next is Sharia Law, something unimaginable in America, but is already happened in Western Europe: A SEPARATE COURT FOR JUST MUSLIMS that exempts them from real law. They want to transform the world into a Muslim Theocracy. Research yourself how disgusting Islam is in general, from references to Jews and Christians as "dogs", and not to mention how the false prophet Mohammed was a rich, pedophile merchant.

This is NOT intolerance of religion. But when religion crosses the line of government; that I will never tolerate.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
