Firestation 23

To:  Berkeley Park and Surrounding Neighborhoods

The undersigned residents, citizens and business owners of Berkeley Park and its surrounding communities (including Underwood Hills, Loring Heights, Wildwood, Collier Heights, Collier Hills, DeFoor Hills, Springlake, Brookwood Hills and others), hereby voice our opposition to the closing of Fire Station #23 on Howell Mill Road. It is our belief that closure of Fire Station #23 would grossly compromise the safety and security of our community, risk lives and property, and put too heavy a burden on the remaining fire rescue companies. In addition, since a number of these residential neighborhoods are located in a heavily industrialized area near rail yards, we are more prone to the risk of industrial and/or rail accidents. Accordingly, it is imperative that Fire Station #23 stay open.
