Fire the Head of Greenville Utlities

To:  City of Greenville Commission

We the citizens of Greenville, NC call for the head of Greenville Utilities to be fired.





The water in Greenville has been contaminated with fecal coliform bacteria and possibly e. coli. The testing started to reveal abnormalities as early as Monday evening and no announcement was made until Wednesday afternoon. This put too many people at risk in the meantime if the risks are as dire as GUC has led us to believe since the warnings were announced.





The economic devastation to local businesses and the interruption to health and education services is unacceptable and reduces Greenville to third world status. Everyone in Greenville should receive a credit on the next utility bill for the inconvenience and interruption in service.





We believe the person in charge of Greenville Utilities needs to be held accountable for the contamination and the mishandling of the situation after its discovery and that termination is the only remedy.
