STOP PREDATORY FLAGGING ON CRAIGSLIST |
To: Craigslist UsersCurrently anyone can flag and delete a listing on Craigslist. There is a lack of clarity as to how many flaggings it takes to have a listing removed. There is questionable flagging and deleting going on inside Craigslist.
This petition is to ask Craigslist Administration to have anyone who flags for deletion any listing, other than vice or crime-related reporting, be required to somehow identify themselves. Blind deleting needs to be prevented to protect the folks who are trying to sell from possible competitors who want to eliminate competition in the same city. There may be other reasons that are impossible to identify. Requiring identification of some kind from the flagging party would allow for accountability instead of what can appear to be "hidden agenda elimination from Craigslist". There are many of us who do not mind constructive criticism, but repeated "elimination" from a city on Craigslist is not reasonable nor is it in the spirit of fair listing that Craigslist encourages.
If people had to identify themselves before deleting the sale of an item or the offering of a rental or service, they would be less apt to delete and perhaps find a better way to communicate. Without identification of the individual flagging, it makes it possible for certain parties to be "blacklisted" from Craigslist without Craigslist even having anything to say about it.
WE WANT CRAIGSLIST TO PLEASE FORCE PREDATORY FLAGGING AND DELETING TO BECOME TRANSPARENT, AND REQUIRE THE PARTY ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE LISTING LEAVE A NAME OR A WAY THAT CRAIGSLIST CAN SEE WHO THEY ARE. IF THE FLAGGING AND DELETING PERSISTS WITH THE SAME PARTY, THERE WOULD BE GROUNDS FOR ACCOUNTABILITY.
THANK YOU CRAIGSLIST
THERE ARE MANY OF US WHO WANT TO CONTINUE UTILIZING YOUR SERVICE.Sincerely,
