During the last three years in Darfur, Sudan, there has been a massive genocide of innocent civilians. The death toll includes hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children. Sadly, murder is just one of many of the problems in the region. Many of the people living in the region are starving. Even worse, an uncountable number of women in the area have been and still are raped.
These injustices cannot go on any further. If the United Nations does not take action now, hundreds of thousands more people will be killed, starved, and/or raped. Secretary General Kofi Annan, we strongly urge you to act and follow through with these recommendations:
1. To OFFICIALY condemn the events in Sudan as genocide.
2. To gather and deploy United Nations peacekeepers to the region as soon as possible.
The people in Darfur cannot suffer any longer. Time is of the essence for them.
