Stop Horse Slaughter

Horse slaughter has now gone too far in the United States. There is no demand for horsemeat in this country so why do we buy, ship and slaughter these RECREATIONAL animals? Horses are treated unhumanely and are abused after they are bought to be slaughtered. Even though these horses are "stunned" by a large bolt driven into their skull, many of these animals are still ALIVE as their throats are cut. The fate of many racehorses that are unable to race or breed is slaughter. Many of these horses are perfectly fine creatures who are healthy with shiny coats. Horse slaughter MUST be stopped in this country. We must make buying and shipping from this country illegal.
