Too many in Congress and the Senate appear to be there for the wrong reasons. Some have made their fortunes and now want to be a part of the most exclusive club on Earth. Some go there to enrich themselves. Some are there because they want to some day be President

We've all heard the old platitude "he went to Washington to change Washington - then Washington changed him! (or her)" That continues to happen because the people we send are often far from altruistic.

We would be better served by representatives who are there AGAINST their will, who were badgered or even shamed into taking the job.

The problem with many representatives is that their ambition makes them useless. They do not want to risk their careers by making waves, exposing those who are corrupt. We need representatives in the House and Senate who will not be bullied - because they are not worried about there next vertical move toward glory.

In 2010, Barack Obama's former Senate seat will be up for re-election. The state of Illinois desperately needs a US Senator who will represent the state with honor, dignity and effectiveness.

Gary Sinise, YOU would make an excellent choice for the citizens of Illinois.

Gary Sinise is more than a highly regarded actor from Illinois. He is well known for his humanitarian work and public service.
