Transfer Guantanamo Bay detainees to the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Los Angeles, CA

To:  All Elected and Appointed Officials

On Thursday January 22nd 2009, President Obama signed an executive order requiring that the Guantanamo Bay detention center be closed within a year.

Still to be answered is the question of where the Guantanamo detainees, who are unable to be transferred to other countries, will be held while their disposition is being determined.

We the undersigned ask our elected and appointed officials to transfer these detainees to the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC), located in Los Angeles, approximately 6.5 miles from Hollywood, CA.

We the undersigned feel that this would be an excellent opportunity for the Hollywood activists who tirelessly campaigned for President Obama and his promise to close the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, to show the world the depth of their tolerance and enlightenment by maintaining the moral high ground, and allowing the MDC in Los Angeles to become the crown jewel of human rights in the world.
