We, the computing masses - being of sound mind and body - but achieving no sound through our Windows Vista HDMI connections - hereby demand redress from Microsoft and it's engineers to implement a total solution to the failures associated with the current iteration of HDMI support in Windows.

We demand nothing less than the benefits and ease-of-use advertised by computer makers, motherboard and graphics card manufacturers which have failed to materialize.

We demand an end to overscanning, automatic display detection that doesn't detect the display, control of refresh rates and output resolution, audio that travels over the same high-fidelity wires and an end to the constant restarts and "No Signal Detected".

We demand specific explanations for the failures of the Microsoft engineering team, and a timeline for a fix to be implemented.

We demand that trolling through disorganized support forums and translated foreign programmer solutions be ended once-and-for-all.

We demand that computer manufacturers take our side, or stop advertising their products as HD-Ready.

And finally, we demand a virtual dialogue from Microsoft.com - a place that can straddle the wide-margin between computer programmers, and those users who are proficient enough to build a networked home entertainment complex, but who cannot re-write the drivers for their HDMI-implementation.

We ask this because HDMI works, it must work... We have seen the Mac Mini, and it is good. Why must we choose, Microsoft? Between a familiar and diverse ecosystem, or a walled-garden that lacks a right mouse button...
