Heyyy Philadelphia Flyers fans |
To: Philadelphia Flyers FansTo Philadelphia Flyers Game Day Management,
This petition is designed to gain backing for a return to Gary Glitter’s “Rock and Roll – Part 2 (The Hey Song)” to be played at the Wachovia Center following goals scored by the Philadelphia Flyers. The buzz and excitement generated throughout an arena when this song is played is unrivaled. While we can understand the desire to differentiate our home from other rinks in the NHL, “Bro Hymn” by Pennywise is barely understandable when echoed throughout the Wachovia Center. The fact that fans do not get behind the song in unison seemingly leads to a slightly more lackluster response, which can tend to have an in-game effect. Also, Pennywise’s song was first introduced in Anaheim, and even played live at their Stanley Cup celebration in 2007. Therefore, the tune is not even really unique to Philly. With that being said, we would like to say “HEYYYY!” to all Philadelphia Flyers fans to help us return to a song that most sports fans know and love – “Rock and Roll – Part 2 (The Hey Song)” by Gary Glitter. Go Flyers!
Sincerely,
