Fire Norv and Hire Pete

The San Diego Chargers should fire Norv Turner and hire Pete Carroll.

San Diego General Manager AJ Smith has near flawless performance in talent acquisition, however, he really dropped the ball with the hiring of Norv Turner. Despite his overall record of 58-82-1 as a head coach, Turner was hired to replace fired head coach, Marty Schottenheimer, after leading the Chargers to a 14-2 regular season record in 2006.

It is no secret that the team that went to the AFC title game in 2007 was Marty's team. Now after dropping to a dismal 4-8 record as of November 30, 2008, Norv Turner has officially ruined what experts called the most talented team in the NFL and has turned a highly touted Super Bowl contender into a laughing stock.

The San Diego Chargers should fire Norv Turner and hire Pete Carroll. Furthermore, the Chargers should give Carroll whatever he asks for. The Chargers are not getting younger and their window is closing fast. This team has the talent but lacks the leadership and inspiration from a head coach needed to excel.
