Honorable Members of the Citizen's Advisory Committee:
We, the undersigned San Franciscan artists are aware that recent legislation transferred the former Arts Commission Building (155 Grove Street) to the Mayor's Office on Housing for development into housing for extremely low-income people.
We are strongly in support of this effort, but urge you to pursue a mixed-use (housing and arts) strategy for this site. By doing so, you will be addressing two crucial needs this city has: low-income housing and accessible arts space.
