COMPENSATION TO THE JEWS FROM ARAB COUNTRIES WILL PROMOTE PEACE BETWEEN ISRAELIS AND PALESTINIANS

WE THE UNDERSIGENED PETITION THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, CANADA, THE UNITED NATIONS AND THE EUROPEAN UNION, TO INCLUDE THE VOICE OF JEWS FROM THE ARAB WORLD TO BE INLCUDED IN ALL FUTURE TALKS DEALING WITH PALESTINIAN LAND CLAIMS
Between 1948 and 1967 more than 980,000 Jews were forced to leave the Arab world. Jews were forced in exile and had to leave penniless. The Egyptian government confiscated their homes, bank accounts, properties, and businesses. They became refugees, yet only now in January 2004 have they been officially recognized as such. Few countries gave them asylum, among them: Canada, France, the United States, Australia and Brazil, in addition to Israel.
The various governments of Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Algeria, Libya, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E. (United Arab Emirates), and Yemen, in 1948 refused to acknowledge the State of Israel as a legitimate United Nations State. Egypt and Jordan did later on, and signed a Peace Treaty with Israel with a clause that states that compensation will be given to those Jews from Arab countries who lost their homes, bank accounts, businesses etc… To this day, nothing has been settled officially. Hence, we demand that the United States, Canada, the United Nations and the European Union put pressure on the Arab World to:
1. Recognize Israel as a LEGITIMATE STATE voted by unanimity at the United Nations in November 1947.
2. Recognize and compensate Jews from Arab countries for all their lost assets.
3. Include the voice of Jews from the Arab World in all further Peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
No true PEACE can be achieved if injustice reigns. The Jews from Arab Countries in Israel are almost
half the citizens of Israel. If they are compensated for their losses it would be doubly beneficial for the
yearned - for peace between Israelis and Palestinians: 1) They would be more open to make concessions
to the Palestinians. 2) The Palestinians would realize that they are not the only victims of the Conflict and
they would be more open to make concessions and arrive at a Peace Treaty with Israel that would satisfy both sides.
