Justice for India - The World's Largest Democracy |
To: The State Department & The White HouseWe, the Indian-American Community are shocked and disappointed that the United States Government has arbitrarily denied Mr. Narendra Modi, a DEMOCRATICALLY elected Chief Minister of the State of Gujarat, entry into the United States.
As grounds for denial, the US has listed religious intolerance and Mr. Modi's complicity in the 2002 racial riots in Gujarat - charges that have not been proven under any judicial system.
Mr. Modi is a proven and effective statesman, who has attracted the global business community to invest heavily into the infrastructure and development of the State of Gujarat. Currently, Gujarat ranks as one of the most prosperous states in India.
The denial has been called "unwarranted" and "not called for" by the current UPA Government and the BJP, given the fact that Mr. Modi is a Chief Minister holding a Constitutional position.
Indian-Americans for Democracy and Justice urge all Indian-Americans living in the US as well as People of Indian Origin all over the world to express their solidarity with Mr. Modi and with the principles of Democracy, as well as express their disappointment with the US Government, by signing this petition.
Sincerely yours,
Indian-Americans for Democracy and Justice
