Petition to the European Parliament
(to be submitted a week before the opening of the new so called Majless)
The new Iranian Parliament was boycotted and is illegitimate, based on massacre, fraud and filled with corrupt terrorists and torturers
Honourable members of the European Parliament,
After the successful boycott of the Majless (national parliament) elections by Iranians, the Iranian regime has been changing the results constantly to appoint more and more names to the new parliament. In some cities such as Someyram, Verezghan and others the figures announced for the turn out is above %100 of the eligible population of voters. There have been bloody crackdowns on the streets of some cities such as Fereydun Kenar and Eezeh where protesters against the election have been killed. Unfortunately the European Parliament and media have maintained silence on these crimes. There have been unrest in many provinces such as Fars, Khuzestan, Kurdestan, Khorasan and Caspian sea region in response to the sham elections and the fraudulent results announced concerning the turn out.
Many people were coerced into voting by threats with regards to their employment and future prospects in further education, job security, pensions and other government controlled resources. They were told their birth certificates need to have the stamp showing participation in the elections. As a result about %40 of the cast ballots are blank or bearing slogans against the regime.
Sitting members of parliament have pointed out to buying of votes, mass printing and use of fake birth certificates, multiple voting (photographed by journalists), elimination of names from results, involvement of unknown personnel, missing votes and boxes and introduction of fake ballots, breaking of election rules and unrealistic figures announced. The trend in the regime's approach to Iranians’ demand for democracy has been backward, purging half of the regime's own forces claiming to be reformists. Some of the current members of the parliament have been exposing the grand scale of the frauds taking place in the figures announced.
Two government bodies which disputed the results announced, National Registry Office and the Statistical Center of Iran have been served injunctions by the judiciary banning them from any further public announcements contradicting the Guardian Council communiques. The Interior ministry and its affiliated Electoral Executive Watchdog Committee have also disputed the results announced by the Guardian Council. As a result elements of the regime have pointed out its own illegitimacy.
Less than %35 were coerced nationally to vote according to some regime leaks despite mass propaganda and intimidation about the necessity of stamping birth certificates. Of these about %40 were void ballots. In Tehran and other large cities the turn out was less than %12, the figure achieved last year in local elections. We believe the real figures are much lower, around %15 nationally and about half of that in large cities with many void ballots. Even then the results bear no correlation to the exit poles showing mass electoral fraud.
The judiciary, Guardian Council and the state television and radio announcements have been fluctuating between %51 to over %60 and down again on the national turn out. After muzzling other state organizations' protestations with legal threats as mentioned above, these bodies decided to keep silent on the results. However after silencing others, they keep modifying their previous results such as adding further elected members for Tehran and other cities despite initially demanding they go to a second round of voting.
The new batch of so called elected parliamentarians are mainly from security and armed forces responsible for terrorism, torture and serial murders of dissidents or from the even more powerful economic cartels ultimately in charge. They are known locally as representatives of the various mafia running the regime from their economic bases in institutions known as "Bonyads" that dominate the national economy with macro level corruption.
Honourable members of the European Parliament, as reported in this petition elements of the regime itself have confessed to wide scale fraud and mass boycott of the recent elections. We would like to point out again that street protests in response to the staged elections were violently put down and in some cases people were shot dead. As a result a majority of criminals, torturers and terrorists have taken over the parliament fraudulently and we the undersigned respectfully request that you as honourable representatives of the European peoples break your silence on the legitimacy of this so called new parliament in Iran. It is the wish of the Iranian people to ask for a new, completely un-vetted, free and fair parliamentary elections under the supervision of the United Nations and that the free world and countries respecting human rights and democracy not recognize this new selected entity as representatives of the Iranian nation.
The Iranian people will not acknowledge this Majless as legitimate and the opening session of the next Majless will be a national day of mourning and protest.
Sincerely,
