Sanction Iran's Oil

Dear Excellencies,

As you know, the government of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Iran has further kept ruling power in his hands by a bloody military coup. He refused to accept the proper winner of the votes of the Iranian people in the current presidential election. He has been answering peaceful protests against voting fraud with brutal repression, mass arrests of thousands of people on the street and in their homes at night, kidnapping, torture of prisoners, and murder.

For three decades the Islamic terror regime in Iran has taken elementary human and civil rights from the Iranian people. This theocratic fundamentalist regime behaves like an occupying power in Iran and treats the properties and wealth of the country as its own war loot while it treats the Iranian people as enemies in their own country.

The refusal to accept the votes of the Iranian people in the current election is the highest example of three decades of oppression, contempt, and abhorrence which the people of Iran have had to suffer through. The Islamic regime has lost its legitimacy by ignoring the vote of its people and the free world knows clearly now that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his terror regime cannot be the rightful president and representatives of the Iranian people.

Because the power of the oppressive regime to continue its reign is dependent on oil revenue, we want to request you to show solidarity with the people of Iran by stopping any oil trading with the coup regime until it subjects itself to a truly free election of the people. We would like you to explicitly emphasize that you will not trade with this violent regime until it accepts democracy and defeat.
