Justice for the attack on Sri Lankan Cricket team

We, Pakistani citizens, feel ashamed for attack on Sri Lankan cricket team. Pakistan Cricket Board asked many countries to send their cricket teams to Pakistan and tried to convince that situation is not dangerous for the sports. Sri Lankans are the only ones who agreed to visit. Sri Lankan cricket wanted to prove to the world that playing in Pakistan is not so unsafe. They played few One Day Internationals without any incident then went to India for a full series and came back for Test matches.

Our secuity arrangements were promised to be of "Presidential" level. On 2nd March threat of an attack was known and information passed to relevant authorities, even Chief Minister of Punjab knows about it. On the morning of terrorist attack (March 3rd, 2009) police/security agencies were alerted again but they did not pay attention, which resulted in lapse of security and allowed terrorists to attack our brave guests.

Handful number of policemen tried their best to counter the attack but clearly they were overwhelmed, luckily bus driver for the SL team was able to steer the team to safety (staidum) but players still suffered injuries.

This attack has brought the whole Pakistani nation to shame. Mar 3rd has become one of the blackest day in our history when we couldn't provide sufficient security to our guests.

We, Pakistani citizen, demand that:

1. Rehman Malik (who has occupied seat of Inetrior Affairs ministry has proved himself incompetent for the job) be removed from the position. He should've been fired after attack on Marriott hotel in Islamabad.

2. Inquiry commission be setup why the security was not increased when threat of attack was known.

3. Remove current PCB chief and anyone in the PCB who is responsible for not checking the security arrangements.

4. Remove police officials responsible for lapse of security.

5. Government of Pakistan apologise to Sri Lankan government and cricket team.

This is the demand of Pakistani citizens and it should be addressed. We have successfully removed dictatorship, lets see if a democratic government can listen to the demands of its citizens.
