By creating the YFC the Westerly YMCA has created an environment unlike any of the gyms in the local area. Now they seek to take away the YFC area without asking the YFC members. YFC members pay more dues for the use of the YMCA than any other member. The YFC was the reason I became a member of the Westerly YMCA.

I believe two things should be done. First, the YMCA director should halt the current plan and not take away the YFC locker room and the present amenities.

Second, if the YMCA does go forward with this plan I want them to know how many members will be seeking other gyms. The Westerly YMCA has private locker rooms with a sauna and a Jacuzzi. I will be seeking other gym memberships that will offer this same service. Many people like myself have arthritis and seek gyms that have these amenities.

I do not wish to leave the YMCA and I have been a member for more years than I can count. The reason I joined the Westerly YMCA maybe taken from its members and I have yet to find one member that thinks the removal of the YFC is a good idea. I don't think I am alone in this statement. I want to let the directors of the YMCA know this while there is still time.
