Stop Corporate Flyer Distribution in our Neighborhoods

To:  the Kroger Company & Valassis Direct Mail, Inc.

This letter represents an official statement by residents of Cincinnati. We write to encourage the Kroger Company and its contracted corporate marketing materials distribution agencies to immediately cease and desist unsolicited residential delivery of bagged newsprint corporate "flyers." The aforementioned "flyers" are distributed through means other than the U.S. Mail, most commonly by contracted drivers and employees of Valassis Direct Mail, Inc.

We feel these unsolicited corporate flyers are litter. Improperly delivered by employees and contracted staff of Valassis Direct Mail, Inc., these flyers become a nuisance and a blight on our neighborhoods, blowing into our streets and into public utility storm sewers.

Additionally, we feel the waste of newsprint and plastic materials is environmentally irresponsible on the part of both aforementioned companies.

We, the undersigned, strongly encourage the Kroger Company and Valassis Direct Mail, Inc. to eliminate unsolicited residential delivery of corporate sales flyers.
