Lamborn and Bidlack Must Debate

To:  Congressional Candidates of CD-5 in Colorado

The undersigned propose that Doug Lamborn and Hal Bidlack schedule, agree to, and participate in a debate prior to October 3, 2008. Democratic elections are based on the assumption that voters will be given the opportunity to hear all candidates' perspectives, and thus make an informed decision on Election Day. Roughly one-third of registered voters will begin to cast their mail-in ballots as early as October 3, 2008. As such, it is important that voters be able to listen to their candidates before mail-in ballots are cast. Mr. Lamborn has repeatedly stated his desire to "allow the maximum number of voters to see first hand" the differences between his and his opponent's views through debate(s), and Mr. Bidlack has also expressed a willingness to debate. The undersigned strongly urge Mr. Lamborn and Mr. Bidlack to engage in a debate in time for the maximum number of voters to hear the debate.
