With Michael Powell expected to resign as Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) we the undersigned petition President George W. Bush to consider James Lileks as Powells replacement to man the post.

James Lileks is a respected columnist, a frequent radio guest and an Internet icon. He understands media both from the perspective as a member of the media but also as a consumer. Good government needs good people and we believe that the post of FCC Chairman could be filled by no better person than James Lileks.

We the undersigned urge President Bush to nominate James Lileks as the next head of the FCC.
