My name is Adam Nataluk from St. Pauls High School and I am gathering support for Lucas Oosterveen, known to many as simple Ooster. After attending St. Pauls High School for 3 years, he is being removed against his and his parents will and is not permitted back at St. Pauls for the 2009-2010 academic year. Through this petition, I plan to show St. Pauls just how much Lucas means to St. Pauls and his fellow students.

St. Pauls High School said he is at risk of not being allowed to continue as a student at St. Pauls unless there is a significant improvement in his attitude, behaviour and service record.

Lucas was able to improve his grades in 4 major courses through the second term and accumulated far fewer JUGS (St. Pauls form of a detention) than he did in the first term. He took initiative in his school life by taking an opportunity to re-do a project. On that re-do, Lucas notched 100\%. Lucas successfully completed St. Pauls Christian Service Program with over 30 volunteer hours served. Also, he is a member of a voluntary group called a Christian Life Community and has been since grade 9.

Within the school, there is a saying that encourages students to not be an 8:35 to 3:15 student. Lucas definitely follows this adage. Nearly everyday he is in the cafeteria with a binder open at 7:45 in the morning. In addition to that, Lucas is a Crusader. In the beginning of every year, he part takes in the school volleyball program and has done so since grade 9. Hes been named an all-star countless times and led the school to 3 zone championships and a Provincial Championship.

Around school Lucas is friends with everybody, striking conversations with who ever is around. This kind of person is what St. Pauls is all about. He represents the school in athletics, he manages to improve himself throughout the year when times are tough and most importantlyhe wants to stay.

Lucas showed that he improved his service and his attitude and behaviour were never a problem. The upcoming graduating class of 2010 at St. Pauls High School will not be complete with the departure of Lucas Oosterveen.

All those who sign the petition are in favour for the reinstatement of Lucas Tyler Oosterveen to St. Pauls High School for the 2009-2010 academic year.
