No to the Lebanese Government's Submission to Terror

To:  Leaders of the 14th of March Coalition

Dear Leaders of the 14th of March Coalition,

We, the undersigned, condemn the move by the Lebanese government to revoke its last two decisions which enforced the exclusive authority of the state, as an act of cowardice in front of the dangers threatening this country and a submission under terror to the will of illegal militias.

The government's revocation of its legal decisions is a shameful recognition of the militia of Hezbollah as an alternate, sovereign state that is stronger than the Lebanese state itself.

Not only has the government, which is controlled by the 14th of March coalition, allowed violence to prevail over human dignity and reason by their inaction, but they have commenced a disastrous process of giving away this great nation village by village, city by city.

Concession after concession was made in the name of avoiding civil strife, dodging sectarian war, and protecting what remained of the weakened state. The ineffectiveness of the 14th of March and their never-ending willingness to compromise the authority of the state and the rights of the Lebanese citizens have actually caused the same war they were trying to avoid; only to leave us with nonexistent judicial system, central army, police force, and basic services.

We reject the excuses given by the 14th of March, and call upon you to step up, at this landmark crossroad in our nation's history, to your leadership responsibilities; otherwise, you should muster the courage to step aside and leave the leadership to people willing to fight for the Lebanon that we want; a free, sovereign, diverse and democratic state.

History will judge us all..
