Dear MBTA,
The T is not serving its consumers to the best of its ability--by not running after 12:30 a.m., the T removes a valuable public-safety resource, essential economic stimulus, and necessary mode of transportation. While staffing levels is understandably a concern, we propose running less often during the hours where currently there is no service (i.e. one train every 20 minutes), reducing staffing costs while maintaining an essential service.
A city the size of Boston constantly has events throughout the evening; without public transportation, many people are excluded. Fulfill your mission of being a "world-class transit system built upon accessibility [and] reliability" by running, at a minimum, reduced-frequency service between the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. daily.
