MEN HAVE A ROLE IN ENDING GBV

Male have a role in fighting Sexual Violence.

In Kenya, gender inequality has wreaked havoc on the lives of women and girls.

Despite many endeavours by the state and women, gender based violence has continued and gone out of hand; girls as young as 6 months and grandmothers of over 80 years have been sexually abused.

Violence is a tool that is used to subdue or control another person's behaviour. Gender based violence is the discriminatory unleashing on violence because of the victims sex and or sexuality. It is a Human Rights violation. It is barbaric. It should never be justified. It goes against all the tenets of a civilized society. It only serves to satisfy the perpetrators warped emotional need. It should stop NOW!

And Men should take the lead. And more so the men in Parliament. Men who are not afraid of equality. Men who use their brain not brawn to prove they are men. In short REAL MEN. Currently the men are the overwhelming majority in Parliament.

Prove you are a REAL MAN by acknowledging:
1. that Gender-based violence - in all it forms- is a dehumanizing barbaric act.
2. That it should stop.
3. That men have a role in eliminating this vice.
4. That it start with me!

If you believe this is possible, send this petition to your MP - men and women- if you believe this is possible, send this petition to your friends and ask them to sign the petition so that their MP may know there are many of his constituents that believe MALE MPS HAVE A ROLE IN ENDING GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE.

You will be surprised just how many men out there are gender sensitive but have no platform to articulate or actively participate to show their abhorrence to gender based violence. But you as the honourable members have the country listening every time you speak.

Real Men do not abuse women. Real Men do not fear Equality. Real men use their strength to protect not to hurt.

As a father to a woman, a brother to a woman, a son to a woman, a husband to a wife (woman), and as an MP to men and WOMEN; you have a role.
