Remove Rowdy as mascot of the Dallas Cowboys

Mr. Jones:

We the undersigned request that you remove or replace Rowdy as the team mascot of the Dallas Cowboys. He does not represent the team in a a manner we fans feel is appropriate. He's embarassing, annoying, dangerous, idiotic, and mocked by fans of other teams throughout the league. He does nothing to enliven the fans at games, and there are some I've interacted with via internet message boards who expressed a desire to pull his foam head off and hit him with it. One related the story of his child who was scared by Rowdy's appearance, and his child supposedly doesn't frighten easily. We can't blame him. If we got up close and personal with those soulless eyes, we'd probably run screaming for the gates!

Included in his resum'e:

Interfered with players.
Interrupted games.
Injured a cameraman with his ATV.
Been removed from the field by referees.
Been thrown out of practice by our coach.
Reportedly annoyed our coach repeatedly.
Has an annoying habit of waving no good on opposing teams' field goals which are made.
Shouldn't be allowed near an ATV, let alone be allowed to operate one.
Some felt he acted in a disrespectful manner at Tex Schramm's Ring of Honor induction ceremony, in what should have been a solemn occasion.
His irksome manner has even been documented in the Dallas area media, for goodness' sake!

We realize Rowdy is active in the community, but his primary job on game day is to energize the crowd and represent the Dallas Cowboys to the league and the world's fans in the spirit of the team.

While we obviously can't bring Crazy Ray back, the Cowboys should have someone like him as a mascot. Someone who gets the fans going, someone that the fans can relate to and enjoy being around and interacting with, rather than someone who gets on people's nerves and just plain gets in the way. There have been times when Cowboys fans have been less vocal in their own stadium than opposing fans. Rowdy does nothing to get our crowds going, or get them into a game. He's less a mascot than someone that gets paid for wearing a foam suit and running around like an idiot.

And finally. The Dallas Cowboys have not won a playoff game let alone a Super Bowl, since Rowdy has been the team mascot. While this is largely due to inferior teams, there have been games that could have been won had our crowd been into the game. Without the crowd, we have no true home field advantage. We may as well be playing road games. We need a mascot to help keep or get our crowd into the flow of the game. 10 years is long enough. We need a change!
