City of Los Angeles Parking Meter Upgrade

This petition is not just for Los Angeles Residents but also for visitors who have experienced the parking meter problem.

To:  Mayor Villaragosa, City of Los Angeles

We, the citizens of Los Angeles, petition that the City of Los Angeles upgrades all citywide parking meters to Smart Meters or Easy Park/Easy Pay Stations.

These new meters will replace the previous faulty and old-fashioned coin operated meters with pay stations that will give drivers the opportunity to pay for parking with credit cards or coins (including dollar coins). These new meters will also give drivers the opportunity to be reminded via text message when their meters will run out.

This reduces the unwanted parking tickets and unwarranted parking tickets due to current faulty meters. Although the city has already implemented new meters 10\% of the city, a quicker change is necessary. These meters have been found to work smoothly in other large cities, and they should be put into operation as soon as possible.
