Information on new DS 2.5D Metroid Game

To Nintendo,
please can you confirm whether there will or will not be a new side-scrolling metroid game for DS(currently know as metroid dread).
This topic has sparked numerous debates about things relating to it.
It was recently excited by ann easter egg in the recent FPS Metroid Prime 3
in which a console within the game has data saying "Experiment status report update: Metroid project 'Dread' is nearing the final stages of completion."
