We, the taxpayers, parents, and teachers of the New Braunfels Independent School District do hereby present this petition to the NBISD Board of Trustees respectfully requesting the termination of the contract of Superintendent Michael T. Smith.

We believe that the NBISD is not being effectively managed, that employees and parents are not being treated in a respectful manner, and that a proper focus on educating our students has been lost in favor of a focus on standardized test scores. Furthermore, the recent actions by personnel hired under Superintendent Smith shows a lack of managerial oversight and pre-hire background and prior performance checks.

This is OUR district. We stand together with a common voice in requesting this action. The taxpayers, parents, teachers, and students of the New Braunfels Independent School District respectfully request the removal of Superintendent Smith.
