NCAA, remove primary ban in South Carolina and Mississippi |
To: NCAAWe, the undersigned, continue to call upon the NCAA to lift the discriminatory ban on "predetermined" athletic events placed on South Carolina and Mississippi due to the veneration of Confederate symbols in those states.
Furthermore, we call upon them to realize that just as they did not have the moral authority to expand the ban to include "non-predetermined" athletic events, they do not have the moral authority to sustain the primary ban.
We also call upon them to stop the hypocritical claim to serve the interest of minorities while pursuing a policy injurious to those people.
Finally, we call upon them to operate under the limitations of a non-profit organization and abandon the practice of attempting to influence state legislation through economic blackmail:
Sincerely,
