HSLA Natural Gas Vehicles

HAYNESVILLE SHALE LANDOWNERS ASSOCIATION - HSLA

PETITION TO FEDERAL LAW MAKERS REPRESENTING THE ARK-LA-TEX AREA:
WHEREAS, citizens of the United States are currently buying gasoline and diesel for their vehicles from the Refinery Industry which imports approximately 70% of its raw energy needs for transportation from foreign countries, some of which are sworn enemies of the United States; and

WHEREAS, the United States has an abundant supply of natural gas within its borders sufficient to supply the needs of its citizens for residential use, industrial use AND transportation fuels for many years; and

WHEREAS, unemployment is currently at a very high level in the United States; and

WHEREAS, a part of the problem with the economy of the United States (short money supply) was created by past purchases of imported crude; and

WHEREAS, the price of natural gas is depressed because of the lagging economy, which has slowed the development (drilling and pipelines) of our U.S. natural gas resources; and

WHEREAS, the negative impact upon our climate (local and worldwide) will be greatly reduced by conversion of transportation vehicles to use natural gas as fuel;

NOW, THEREFORE, the undersigned demand that the elected representatives of citizens in the ARK-LA-TEX area sponsor legislation and support policy initiatives leading to the conversion of the U.S. domestic transportation system to natural gas as fuel in place of imported crude oil, where ever possible; including, promoting:
• Manufacturing of new vehicles that use natural gas as fuel,
• Creating infrastructure to dispense natural gas nationwide as a vehicle fuel, and
• Making funds available for construction of pipelines to transport natural gas to market.

The undersigned believes such new policy will have the following positive results:
• Increase the speed with which the U.S. converts to alternative fuels.
• Slow carbon/mercury pollution of the earth.
• Stop outflow of U.S. cash to foreign sellers of crude oil, thus reducing the assets potential enemy nations have to use against U.S. citizens and U.S. interests.
• Put Americans to work in the development of natural gas resources, including exploration, drilling, pipelines, distribution infrastructure, manufacture and conversions of vehicles to use natural gas.
• Restart American Industry stalled by a bad economy starved for cash by use of expensive imported energy.
